Nicolette has long been touted as one of the best and most unique voices in the UK. Her vocals have featured on Massive Attack’s multi-million selliong album ‘Protection’ and she has now started her own record label, Early Records and is looking to expand her business. Early Records are looking for a business and label manager for a renowned female Electronica recording artist. This is an exciting post that goes beyond the traditional artist manager protocol, as it will entail a creative partnership with the artist which will include creating and inventing interesting ways to implement her vision as well as helping to co-create this vision. This post, therefore, is for someone who enjoys initiative and who thinks outside the box. Applicants must have considerable experience in the music industry, and extensive experience of working in artiste management or a related field. Good knowledge of Electronica music and popular music in general is essential. Awareness of music business legislation and infrastructures is also a must, as is the ability to think up creative and unusual solutions on a day to day basis. PR and/or Marketing experience a definite bonus. The applicant must be passionate about making a new vision in the music industry, be passionate about their work, love making contacts and meeting people, and must of course love, and believe strongly in the artist’s music.
Duties will include:
- Being the point of contact for the artist and her label on a day to day basis
- Getting and negotiating deals for the artist and label
- Running the artist’s and label’s business affairs and creating a highly effective schedule and plan for both
- Planning and implementing strategies to raise the artist’s music and label profile
- Finding and hiring relevant personnel
- Liaising with relevant music industry professionals and companies
- Attending business meetings on behalf of the artist
- Booking studio time, and other bookings for the artist
Early Records are looking for someone who is dynamic, ambitious, organized, ethical, positive, hardworking, intelligent, good-natured and who thinks differently from the norm.
This is a perfect role for someone of exceptional talent and vision looking to work and co-create with an artist of rare and exciting talent and vision, and to carve a distinct niche.
Renumeration: A commensurate percentage of the artist’s income.
