WMC 2013 Preview

Two huge music-related events are happening in America this week and next, so we thought we should shed some light on them and give you a taster of what’s happening at both. In this feature we’ll be previewing South By South West (aka SXSW) in Austin, Texas and Miami’s Winter Music Conference (or WMC as it’s know). Both events attract a huge turn out from the electronic music industry, and it’s often the case that industry figureheads will hit both events as their start and end dates are so close together.

Right after SXSW, WMC takes the baton and runs with it. In Miami the main focus is supposed to be the series of conferences that take place at the Miami Beach Convention Center… however, each year the conferences are eclipsed by the huge amount of parties that take place in and around South Beach and Downtown Miami. The beautiful surroundings of sunny South Beach are impossible to resist and everyone who’s anyone in the world of electronic music descends on the city every year to spend the week tanning, partying and playing music. The list of parties and superstar DJs to see is literally endless, from Cocoon Heroes and Hot Creations through to Nervous Records and Pete Tong, everyone who’s anyone will be there. We’ve put together a list of some of the highlights from this year’s party calendar…
